This past Saturday (April 14th, 2012) marked the 7th Annual Sacred Run of the Four Directions. The designated starting points were Long Beach, Marina Del Rey, Northridge, and Pomona. We were delighted to take part in this event to keep native traditions alive, and started the day at 5:30am with a beautiful Sunrise Ceremony at Tony Cerda Park in Pomona. Our runners took off from there shortly afterward. Participants simultaneously ran into different communities – old village sites and sacred sites – where there are or have been misguided social conflicts. This event is organized by the Aztlan Mexica Nation Harmony Keepers (www.harmonykeepers.org).
