This short film features members of the Costanoan Rumsen Carmel Tribe and documents Tony Cerda and tribal youth talking about the significance of their Bear Ceremony. All interviews and footage were captured onsite at Coyote Hills Regional, on of site of the Rumsen ancestral lands located on the Californian of the southern Bay Area.

This short film was created by youth tribe members who participated in Pitzer College’s Native Youth Pipeline in the summer of 2009. Through narrative and imagination, the directors and actors share traditional stories with viewers.

2009 PANHE Earth Day Celebration at San Mateo Campgrounds. Featured is an interview with Tribe Headman Tony Cerda, a goldmine of cultural and historical information, who answers questions regarding Costanoan Rumsen Carmel history throughout California.
